THE BRIEF
Retail Week clients Fujitsu and LoweConex wanted to showcase their business expertise on sustainable practices and to position themselves as experts that could help retailers achieve their ESG ambitions. They also wanted an opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the UK’s leading retailers.
THE SOLUTION
Following the success of Retail Week’s 2022 Sustainability Summit – which saw 60 senior retailers come together for a morning of unmissable content and networking – the event was relaunched for 2023 in partnership with Fujitsu and LoweConex.
Taking place on October 11, the event was oversubscribed with 65 retailers in attendance and featured high-profile speakers and retail leaders on the content agenda including Dunelm, Pets at Home, Ikea, John Lewis, Kingfisher, Decathlon and more.
Job titles in attendance included sustainability director, chief finance officer, retail director, supply chain director, legal director, sales director, people and culture director, head of supply chain, head of environment and senior legal counsel, to name just a few.
The summit centred on how retailers could take tangible steps to achieve their sustainability goals and strategies and make green initiatives balance with their bottom line.
Fujitsu and LoweConex not only benefited from speaking opportunities at the event – delivering a keynote and speaking on a panel respectively – but they also generated valuable brand awareness and made connections with retailers throughout the morning.
Campaign marketing included:
- Dedicated event portal with partner branding
- Social content across Twitter (100,000+ followers) and LinkedIn
- Native advertising on Retail-Week.com
- An eight-week marketing campaign to our 35,000-strong database of retail professionals
Feedback from retailers in attendance was particularly strong. A representative from TJX commented that they found the summit “really helpful, insightful and inspiring with a great mixture of topics and panels covered”, while a senior leader from Pets at Home asked for the event date for 2024 “so we can make sure we can attend”.
