THE BRIEF
Our sponsors wanted to raise their profile as partners that can help retailers and brands bolster recruitment, staff retention, reinvigorate wellbeing strategies, and help employers inspire the next generation of leaders.
They were seeking to generate valuable leads and engage in face-to-face conversations with HR and people leaders from across the sector to support them with their staff strategies. They also wanted the opportunity for thought leadership and to share insights from their businesses to an audience of engaged decision makers.
THE SOLUTION
Retail Week launched its inaugural event, The People and Leadership Summit, with employee satisfaction and building a culture fit for the future as its core focus.
The Summit, hosted at Events @ No. 6, Aldgate, London, on June 19, featured speakers from Holland & Barrett, Selfridges, Jollyes, Currys, Wickes, Pret a Manger and more on topics such as implementing new employee tech, supporting emerging talent and career progression, DEI strategies, and the future of flexible working.
Almost 90 senior retailers and brands registered for the event, demonstrating the level of demand for the content and insights. Our partners AdviserPlus, Cognizant, Tribepad, Workday, UKG, and LinkedIn were able to foster new relationships with the senior people leaders in attendance and position themselves as trusted partners for the industry to learn from, and work with.
Campaign marketing included:
- Dedicated event website with partner branding
- Social content across Twitter (100,000+ followers) and LinkedIn
- Bespoke social cards created for sponsors and speakers to highlight their inclusion
- Native advertising on Retail-Week.com
- An eight-week marketing campaign to the Retail Week database of retail professionals
- Event registration hosted behind a data-capture page, with partners provided with GDPR-compliant leads to download post-event
The event brought together circa 50 senior HR and people leaders on the day from retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Kingfisher, JD Sports, Primark, and Sainsbury’s. Feedback from guests was overwhelmingly positive.
